CALIFORNIA VETERANS MEMORIAL

A Living Tribute to Every California Veteran

THE DESIGN - The California Veterans Memorial, located on the grounds of the state Capitol in Sacramento, will be aesthetically unique. The memorial will inspire appreciation for the sacrifices endured by veterans from the Golden State since Congress bestowed statehood upon California in 1850.

CALIFORNIA VETERANS MEMORIAL REGISTRY

The Veterans Memorial Registry will be a permanent record of all California veterans, past and present.

Using a touch screen, visitors will be able to access information regarding California veterans and the manner in which they served. Each California veteran is entitled to the basic information  of name, branch and rank of service. Any veteran who considers California their home is eligible to participate.

Enhance Your Registration - For a donation of $50, California veterans can be truly immortalized by submitting a 100 word statement and a photograph (preferably in military uniform). There are other memorials in California, but none that represent all who served. The 100 word statement is your opportunity to describe your military experience or that of a loved one. The written statement can include such information as medals awarded, duty stations, nicknames, anecdotes, hometown or other relevant information. Visitors to the memorial will be able to refer to this information forever and recall the military experience of someone special in your family.

YOU CAN HELP THE MEMORIAL

The California Veterans Memorial is being built with money raised through private contributions. Contributions to the California Veterans Memorial are tax-deductible under section 170(c)(1) of the Internal Revenue Code as a gift to the state of California for an exclusive purpose. Please consult your tax advisor regarding the applicability of your contribution.
