(L) to (R) Mark Svenningsen, County Veteran Service Officer, Ted Lempert, County Board of Supervisors, Clyde Clark of Veterans of Foreign Wars, John Shannon and Jim Frear, both of the American Legion and Lucy Scarbrough of the Employment Development Department office in San Mateo.
On April 1993, The VECSM was born. Representatives from various Veteran Service Organizations met and formed a partnership with the Veteran Representative staff of the Employment Development Department (EDD) office in San Mateo, Sheryl Shaffer, LVER and Jim Blank, DVOP.
Our founding father and Chairman Clyde Clark and his wife Barbara have been our strongest supporters from the beginning.
Ira Davis is our current Chairman/President and Phil Kurokawa is our Job Fair 98 Chairman.
We recently celebrated our Fifth Year Anniversary. Tom Heuning, President of the Board of Supervisors attended our meeting in April and presented a special Proclamation for our group.
